Veggies and a little work out

Today's work out wasn't worthy of praise, but it was definitely fun! I did a 20 minute turbo jam work out, and then a few songs on Just Dance 2. Uhm, that game ROCKS! Have you ever played it?

The game was even more fun than I expected. I tried to get my husband to play with me, he just replied with, "I think that is more of a girls game." I will keep working on him. If I ever get him to play I will take pictures for proof. It actually did get my heart rate up a little, probably cause I was getting really into it. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face as I danced to "Hey Ya."

Dinner tonight was a simple rice bowl. I just sauteed a bunch of veggies, added a little soy sauce, lime, ginger, salt and pepper, rice and egg. It was quite tastey, and very easy on the wallet! I almost always have all of these ingredients on hand. I even got the kiddos to eat some. Maister was bribed with the lure of hot chocolate if she ate some of the veggies. We are not above bribery. Especially when it comes to eating vegetables!

I got Gator to eat tomato, mushroom, spinach, and carrot today! WAHOO! This was huge. He usually likes carrot, but the fact that I got him to eat all of the others was amazing. I was such a proud mother at lunch time. Granted these vegetables were served with his favorite dried cranberries. But I figure I just need to slowly warm him up to the foods. It is the small victories right?

Does anyone else salivate just looking at these vegetables? I also added mushrooms a few minutes after this... mmm
Anyone have a tricks to getting your kids to eat better?

I like to try and be sneaky! But I also like to try and get them used to the look and texture of the foods in the "true" state. So I try to do a little of both.
